Jeanne Beck has been named vice president of Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers Inc. She is the first staff member ever to hold that title in the Ryan family business, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. As Vice President Beck will oversee customer service, serve as a backup to the president and ensure that the office runs smoothly.
Robert J. Ryan Jr., CIC, founder and president, announced Beck’s promotion. A licensed property and casualty insurance broker and agent with 36 years in the industry, Beck said she has served twice with the family business. From 1989 to 1999 she worked for the current owner’s father, Robert J. Ryan, and the firm he founded in 1958. She returned in 2009, working for Bob Ryan and the firm he founded as a successor to the original.
“Jeanne has played a critical part in setting up our first and, recently, our second agency management system,” said Ryan. “Today she is the key person responsible for Ryan and Ryan operations, including insurance carrier relations, HR, IT, regulatory compliance and cyber security systems,” he added.
“I like to think I can handle any task that comes my way,” says Beck, a Hudson Valley native who now lives with her family in Saugerties, New York.
With a staff of 17 and a strong outlook for growth, Ryan & Ryan is poised to establish a more formal management hierarchy, Bob Ryan explained. The family-owned agency is one of a handful of independently owned insurance brokers. It provides home, auto, health, business, life, farm and agricultural insurance to nearly 4,000 policy-holding customers in the Kingston area.
