Broadview at Purchase, a university-based retirement community on the campus of the State University of New York at Purchase, has hired a new Director of Human Resources (HR), Natacia Orru who has more than 15 years of HR experience specifically in onboarding, training and development, payroll administration, benefits, wellness, compensation, strategic planning, performance management, operations, executive recruiting, staffing and process improvement. Previously, she served as human resource manager at a private nonprofit school in Stamford, Connecticut. Orru is a graduate of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a minor in human resources. She is also an officially trained provider through the SAGE Care program, a cultural competency training program organized by SAGE, a leading LGBTQ+ aging cultural competency provider that provides training programs and strategic guidance to help improve the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults. She is a native of Westchester County and lives in Mount Kisco with her dog Olive.
Ashley Wade, executive director of Broadview at Purchase, said having a capable and dedicated HR professional like Orru on board will be essential to the continued success of Broadview. “Orru will play a strong role in hiring key talent and building careers here,” said Wade. “She’ll make a difference every day in the lives of people who live and work here.”
Set on 40 acres with walking and exercise trails, Broadview at Purchase College offers a full continuum of services. The community has 174 senior residential apartments, 20% of which are set aside for residents who meet certain median-income requirements. There are 10 different floor plans with one-bedroom, one- bedroom with study, two- bedroom and two-bedroom with study options ranging from 675 square feet to 1,909 square feet. In addition, there are 46 villas or single-family homes on the property offering four different floor plans ranging from 1,927 square feet to 2,224 square feet. All are two-bedrooms with a study and are on one level. Additionally, Broadview offers a wealth of amenities, a flexible dining program with chef-prepared meals, weekly housekeeping and concierge service.
