An indoor soccer facility has opened at New Roc City in New Rochelle in the space that formerly was occupied by an arcade that closed during the Covid pandemic. Socceroof’s 55,000-square-feet space, located on the third floor of New Roc City, features six soccer fields, three hardcourts for pickleball and half-court basketball, and two baseball cages. In addition, there is a private room for parties and a lounge area.
The New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event. This is the sixth North American location for Socceroof. The other North American Socceroof sites are in Brooklyn, Queens and Montreal. The company traces its roots to France where another company headed by one of Socceroof’s founders, Jean-David Tartour, was operating more than 20 locations. Tartour partnered with Jerome Meary to open Socceroof in North America.
Among those attending the opening event were New Rochelle Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert, Deputy Commissioner of Development Jorge Ventura, New Rochelle Small Business Manager Mariana Jusufaj, and City Council Member Shane Osinloye.

Catherine White, executive director of the New Rochelle Chamber. of Commerce welcomed Socceroof to the city and said that she had watched families, groups of friends and soccer teams practicing and playing together.
