The Connecticut Press Club is seeking entries in its annual Communications Contest for high school students.
Teenage journalists in Connecticut are encouraged to enter work in various categories, including op-ed columns, blog posts, news and feature stories, radio, video, photographs and cartoons. All entries must have been published or broadcast between Feb. 1, 2022, and Jan. 31, 2023.
The contest is open to all high school students in the state and recent graduates. This includes public, private, and home-schooled students who reside in Connecticut. The deadline to enter is 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 8, and the entrance fee is $10; information on the contest can be found here. First-place entries in the state contest are eligible to advance to the national contest sponsored by the National Federation of Press Women.
“Connecticut students produced amazing work in last year”™s contest and the state even had a national winner,” said Tom Renner, Contest Director for the Connecticut Press Club. “There is no doubt that Connecticut has some of the best student journalists, storytellers and photographers in the nation. The contest is a great way to showcase their work and get a chance at national recognition.”
