Fairfield University is hosting Rev. Bryan N. Massingale”™s presentation “Spirituality for Racial Justice” on Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the school”™s Dolan School of Business Event Hall. Fr. Massingale is a professor of theological and social ethics at Fordham University, where he holds the James and Nancy Buckman Chair in Applied Christian Ethics and is a senior fellow in the Center for Ethics Education. He received his Doctor of Sacred Theology at the Alphonsian Academy in Rome, the pontifical institute for moral theology. He is the immediate past president of the Society of Christian Ethics, a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America and a former convener of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium.
Fr. Massingale is the author of two books and an award-winning contributor to major Catholic publications including U.S. Catholic, Commonweal, America magazine, The Tablet and The National Catholic Reporter. His current writing projects explore the contributions of the Black radical imagination to Catholic theology and the intersections of race, sexuality, and faith.
