Danbury Hospital, which is part of Nuvance Health, is the first Connecticut hospital to achieve accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. It was recognized for providing the highest quality of care and patient safety by Surgical Review Corp. (SRC), a nonprofit, patient-safety organization dedicated to recognizing and refining surgical care.
Status as an accredited facility means that Danbury Hospital has met nationally and internationally recognized standards. Nuvance Health surgeons Jamie Bruno and Marc Casasanta both completed the rigorous review to achieve this important quality designation.
Nuvance Health Chief Medical Officer and Chairman of Surgery Dr. Jeffrey Nicastro said, “I have enormous respect for my colleagues, Dr. Bruno and Dr. Casasanta for not only completing the very difficult review process leading to this quality designation, but they did so during a historic pandemic. I couldn”™t be more proud of this achievement and all that they do each and every day.”
Nuvance Health is a family of award-winning nonprofit hospitals and health care professionals in the Hudson Valley and western Connecticut.
