Stamford Health, Hospital for Special Surgery to open orthopedic surgical unit

Stamford Health and Hospital for Special Surgery will officially open a 40,000-square-foot orthopedic inpatient surgical unit in the new Stamford Hospital at a media-only event on Oct. 30.

Media members will be offered a brief tour of the unit, including one of the new operating rooms, pre-op and recovery area, the patient rooms and the rehabilitation area.

The collaboration between Stamford Health and HSS, designed to expand inpatient and ambulatory orthopedic services for residents of Connecticut and New England, was announced in February.
