Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and the Teamsters Airline Division have negotiated a tentative agreement for dispatchers that would extend their 2012 collective bargaining agreement by four years and increase wages by 30 percent.
The agreement, reached on April 4, covers 31 dispatchers who work for the Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo subsidiaries. It includes provisions for moving dispatchers this summer from Atlas”™ headquarters in Purchase to its Cincinnati hub.
Union members will vote on the agreement on April 17.
Atlas Air and its Southern Air subsidiary have also been negotiating with affiliates of the Teamsters that represent pilots. The companies sued the unions in federal court in February to compel them to submit to arbitration. Union representatives contend that Atlas is trying to merge two substandard contracts rather than bring pilots up to industry standards.
Atlas Air Worldwide operates a fleet of more than 80 jets. Last year it operated more than 32,500 flights and served 425 destinations in 119 countries.
It recorded more than $1.8 billion in revenue and net income of $41.5 million in 2016.
