Westmed Medical Group has launched a Spine Center, a structured team of medical professionals who collaborate to provide assessment and treatment plans for patients with back or neck pain.
“This program aims to schedule patients with a spine specialist quickly and to treat them in a seamless, integrated, coordinated process using conservative measures first,” said Dr. Stephen Andrus, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist and co-director of the Center.
The Spine Center’s medical team, who will work at various Westmed full-service locations in White Plains, Purchase, Ridge Hill, Yonkers and New Rochelle, includes specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedic spine surgery, neurology, behavioral health, pain management, chiropractic care and alternative medicine. The specialists treat several conditions that affect the spine, including herniated disks, pinched nerves, spinal stenosis, fractures, scoliosis, spinal deformities, degenerative disk disease, arthritis and tumors.
Results of treatment plans are also tracked in regularly scheduled conferences, where specialists exchange ideas and strategies to achieve the best outcomes.
