Christmas is four months away, but the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is bringing some wintry fun to the summer swelter with a preview of its holiday season commemorative stamps.
This year, holiday season mail can be affixed with a choice of four stamps featuring colorful snow globes. In each of the four stamps, artist Gregory Manchess used oil paint to reproduce the holidays spirit held within the encapsulated landscapes. The stamps include a snowman, Santa Claus poised on a chimney, a majestic deer and a Christmas tree.
The Snow Globes stamps are being issued in booklets of 20 Forever stamps that will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price. The first-day-of-issue event will be held Sept. 19 at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena in Breckenridge, Colorado.
