Job training workshops at Empire City Casino
The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Investment Board will host a job readiness training day for war veterans at Empire City Casino in Yonkers on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event at 810 Yonkers Ave. will consist of workshops held on the third floor of the Good Time Room.
Hundreds of veterans are expected to participate in this event, which coincides with the month-long online virtual job fair for veterans. Professional career counselors will lead discussions on topics including social media, interviewing skills, résumé  writing and transferring military skills to the civilian workforce. County Executive Rob Astorino will deliver a keynote address at the job training workshop.

Life Time job fair at Courtyard-Tarrytown Marriot
Life Time Athletic Westchester will host a job fair at the Courtyard-Tarrytown Marriot in Tarrytown on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, to be held at 475 White Plains Road, will feature walk-in interviews on a first come first serve basis, said Lorena Espaillat, Life Time’s facilities operations department head.
“We prefer people come with their résumés dressed in business attire ready to meet the department head of what position they’re interviewing for,” Espaillat said. “We’re looking to hire the majority of our staff in early January.”
Job opportunities at Life Time include positions in the LifeSpa, LifeCafe, member services and facility operations departments. The fitness center is also looking to fill leadership roles including instructors for group fitness classes, kids activities and personal training.
