SARA KENAMORE was awarded her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed both her internship and residency at Babies”™ and Children”™s Hospital at New York- Presbyterian.
ADRIENNE ROGERS received her medical degree at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She served as chief resident in pediatrics and was a post-doctoral residency fellow at Babies”™ and Children”™s Hospital, Columbia University. She is also an associate professor of clinical pediatrics at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.
DANIEL ARNOLD COHEN earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Babies”™ and Children”™s Hospital ”“ New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He is also an assistant attending in the pediatric service at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and an assistant clinical professor in pediatrics for Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
AUDRA D. SCHWEITZER received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She did her postgraduate medical training at Columbia Children”™s Hospital of New York as a pediatric resident. She was the recipient of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award.
FRED BOMBACK was awarded his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center and a fellowship in genetics and metabolism from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is also an attending pediatrician at White Plains Hospital, clinical professor of pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and attending pediatrician at Presbyterian Hospital.
JENNIFER LONGOBARDI earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed both her internship and residency at Babies”™ and Children”™s Hospital ”“ New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She serves as assisting attending at White Plains Hospital, medical director for the White Plains School District and is a medical consultant with The New York School for the Deaf in White Plains. She is a clinical instructor in pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
WJCS receives grant
WESTCHESTER JEWISH COMMUNITY SERVICES, based in White Plains, has received a $8,750 grant from the CJ Foundation for SIDS, the largest, leading SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) organization in the U.S.
The grant will allow the WJCS SIDS Education & Support Program to provide an ongoing support group for parents who have lost children to SIDS, educate the public about risk prevention and infant safety and distribute bi-lingual risk-prevention materials. This outreach targets pregnant women, new mothers, staff at day care/child care centers, medical centers, clinics, caregivers of infants and visiting nurse staff to dispel myths and educate them about sleep positions and sleep safety for their babies.

Walsh receives George Meany Award
DAVID WALSH, president and CEO of Amalgamated Life Insurance Co., a provider of life and health insurance with offices in White Plains, has received one of the most prestigious awards within the labor sector ”” The George Meany Award. This national recognition, approved by the AFL-CIO executive council, is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the youth of their community through Scouting. Walsh is president of the Westchester Putnam Boy Scouts Council. Each AFL-CIO city central labor council and each AFL-CIO state federation is permitted to give just one award annually.
An active member of the labor and insurance industry, Walsh serves on the boards of numerous organizations.
Walsh holds a master”™s degree in professional studies, industrial and labor relations from Cornell University, a master”™s degree in business administration from Alaska Pacific University, a law degree from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor”™s degree in psychology from Loras College.
Prior to joining Amalgamated Life, Walsh served in senior executive positions at AIG and SwissRe, as well as director of insurance and director of international trade for the state of Alaska. He has held several other positions in government, including serving as a member of the United States delegation to the Organization for Economic Development, as a prosecutor during the construction of the Trans-Atlantic Pipeline and 10 years on the Anchorage City Council.
Burke names major gifts director
ETHEL GEISINGER has been appointed director of major gifts in the development department of The Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains.
With a background in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, Geisinger will be raising funds in support of the mission of the hospital and Burke Medical Research Institute.
Geisinger began her career in Washington, D.C., working for a U.S. senator before serving as a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs for five years. She then went on to have a five-year tenure at the Securities and Exchange Commission as director of legislative affairs.
Her nonprofit experience began at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Conn., where she worked as the director of annual giving followed by working with the French American School of New York where she served as director of development for three years.
Phelps names senior director of ancillary services
TIM WAGES has joined Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleep Hollow as senior director of ancillary services with responsibility for cardiovascular and pulmonary services, respiratory care services, hyperbaric medicine, the sleep center and the blood gas lab.
Wages”™ 28 years of nursing experience includes work as an intensive care and post-anesthesia care-unit nurse and nursing and managerial positions for cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs and interventional radiology services. Most recently, he served as nurse manager of interventional cardiology at St. Luke”™s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Prior to that, he worked as nurse manager of interventional cardiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
Beginning his career at Graham Hospital School of Nursing in Canton, Ill., as a diploma graduate, Wages has completed a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Lesley College in Cambridge, Mass., and a BSN and an MSN at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, N.J. He is board certified as a nurse executive.
