The second race in the  Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race Series will start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the perimeter road of the SUNY Purchase College campus.
Organized by Corporate Cup Races Inc., a nonprofit event management company affiliated with the Road Runners Club of America, the three-race summer series was launched as an after-work team-building event for Westchester companies and a chance for colleagues to network with people from other Westchester businesses while helping to raise money for a local cause. Proceeds from the event will go to the Westchester Continuum of Care, which provides shelter for the county”™s homeless residents.
The races offer individual, men”™s, women”™s and co-ed corporate team competitions. Runners can compete as individuals or as part of a team, but not both. Teams are made up of either three men or three women or a combination of two men and two women. The events are open to all runners and walkers.
The race starting line is by the entrance to the Purchase College gym. On-site registration will begin at 5 p.m. The entry fee is $35 per racer or walker for one race.
There is free designated parking on campus at lots 4 and 5. Two water stations will be set up along the race route, and food and refreshments will be served at the finish line.
The series is underwritten by entry fees and the sponsorship of seven companies in the Westchester business community:  Heritage Realty Services LLC, Dorian Drake International Inc., O”™Connor Davies LLP, Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management, Normandy Real Estate Partners, Citibank NA and 1st Equity.
The final race in this summer”™s series will be Aug. 12.
