Sarah Lawrence College has teamedwith the Hudson River Valley Environmental Education Institute to set up Sarah Lawrence’s first off-campus research facility.
Sarah Lawrence and HRVEEI will establishing The Sarah Lawrence College Center for the Urban River at the Beczack Environmental Education Center in Yonkers.
The center will allow on-site fieldwork research opportunities for students in soil and water analysis, collection, preservation of biological samples, and for various projects centered on the ecology of the lower Hudson River and the Saw Mill River.
Students will also participate in the continuing work of the Beczak Center, including educational outreach concerning the environment to K-12 students in the Yonkers community and beyond. No date for the first classes was announced.
