MasterCard Worldwide Inc., the global credit card giant based in Purchase, recently raised $4 million for cancer research through the help of cardholders, issuers and restaurant industry partners.
Through the company’s Dig In & Do Good campaign, MasterCard met its donation goal for Stand Up to Cancer, a nonprofit that aims to raise money for cancer research. The company made a one cent donation every time consumers and small business holders spent $10 or more for restaurant purchases on their MasterCard. Purchases that qualified included coffee, take out and fine dining.
Over the past three years, MasterCard has contributed more than $20 million to Stand Up to Cancer.
