Partner Jason Swergold, co-head of White Plains-based Yankwitt LLP’s Criminal Defense and Investigations Practice, has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under List.
“Jason’s recognition is a clear reflection of his exceptional legal acumen and the formidable trial and litigation skills he developed as an assistant U.S. Attorney,” said Russell Yankwitt, founder and managing partner of Yankwitt. “In just the past two months, Jason has been honored The Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars 40 Under 40, recognized in the 2025 Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation, and now the Benchmark Litigation 40 & Under list.”
Before joining Yankwitt, Swergold spent over eight years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. While there, he tried 12 federal criminal cases and argued 10 appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His leadership was recognized through his appointments to co-chief of the Narcotics Unit, acting deputy chief of the violent and organized crimes unit, and deputy chief of the White Plains Division, where he oversaw all federal criminal prosecutions across six counties in the region.
As a federal prosecutor, he investigated, prosecuted and supervised cases involving racketeering, homicide, organized crime, labor union corruption, gang and drug-related violence, international and domestic narcotics trafficking, sex trafficking, fraud, and firearms offenses.
At Yankwitt Swergold draws on his experience as a former federal prosecutor and approaches every case with a profound understanding of the law, innovative legal strategies, and an unwavering commitment to advancing his clients’ interests.
