As of part of the school’s Provost Office Distinguished Lecture Series, Manhattanville College on Feb. 8 will host science writer, journalist and author John Horgan for a lecture on his 2012Â book, “The End of War.”
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 4 p.m. at the school’s Reid Castle in Purchase.  Horgan, a former senior writer at Scientific American, will discuss the themes of “The End of War,” which explores the ways to end war.
His 1996 book “The End of Science: Facing the Limits of Science in the Twilight of the Scientific Age,” was also reissued with a new preface last year.
The Manhattanville Provost Office’s Distinguished Lecture Series began on Oct. 14 with a lecture by former IBM Academy of Technology Chairman Irving Wladawsky-Berger.
