Elmsford technology developer HYPRES Inc. last week announced the formation of PlusN L.L.C., which the company says will address the needs of companies that are facing availability and capacity issues with their current wireless infrastructure.
Teams at HYPRES and PlusN will work to develop and commercialize signal processing techniques that can be implemented on commonly used processor platforms and that will enable mobile operators to significantly increase the mobile data capacity of their networks without having to add new infrastructure.
“Creating (PlusN) is the first step in providing industry with an exciting new solution that addresses maybe the most critical challenge facing wireless operators,” HYPRES CEO Richard Hitt said in an Aug. 15 statement.
The spinoff is backed by HYPRES lead investors Franklin Johnson of Asset Management Corp., Chris Brody of Vantage Venture Partners and HYPRES chairman John Levy.
