The Capitol Theatre announced Friday Bob Dylan will reopen the famed Port Chester venue in a Sept. 4 performance.
The 1,800-seat concert hall, which has hosted the likes of The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie, among others, fell into disrepair in the 1990s and has been used primarily as a catering and events facility in the time since.
Now under new management, owner Peter Shapiro announced in December 2011 that the theater would be renovated and would reopen with a full slate of musical performances.
Aside from Dylan, other scheduled acts through April 2013 include The Roots, who will perform four times in September, Hugh Laurie of the television series House, David Gray, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds Five, Fiona Apple, Blues Traveler, Steve Miller Band, Guster, and Herbie Hancock, among others.
Tickets for Dylan”™s performance go on sale Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. All event tickets are available through www.ticketfly.com.
