The College of New Rochelle has named David Donnelly as dean of the Graduate School and Kristine Southard as dean of the School of New Resources. Donnelly will also serve as interim dean of the School of Arts & Sciences.
A video producer and director whose productions have aired on public television stations, Donnelly had served as interim dean of the Graduate School since September. His administrative career in higher education includes posts at Sarah Lawrence College, where he was director of continuing education, Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, where he was dean of the School of Communications, and Chatham University in Pittsburgh, where he was dean of the College for Graduate Studies. The Rye Brook resident has been a visiting research fellow at Fordham University”™s McGannon Center.
Donnelly earned a bachelor”™s degree in radio, television, and film at the University of Maryland and master”™s and doctoral degrees in communication from the University of Massachusetts.
The new dean of the School of New Resources at the New Rochelle college, Southard arrived at that school as a faculty member in 1994. She was named campus director of the college”™s Co-op City campus in the Bronx in 2002, which under her leadership, according to college officials, expanded to capacity and enhanced its digital technology with government grants secured by her. Southard in 2012 was named the college”™s assistant vice president for academic affairs and last year was appointed interim dean of the School of New Resources.
The Eastchester resident earned a bachelor”™s degree in English and political science from Fordham University and a master”™s degree in English and doctoral degree in literature from New York University.
College of New Rochelle Provost Dorothy Escibrano in the announcement said both Donnelly and Southard “are deeply committed to fostering a supportive and enriching educational environment for our students and show a true appreciation for CNR”™s rich tradition and commitment to educational excellence.”
