A marina in Rye is being proposed as a luxury estate ”“ provided someone is willing to pay $29.95 million for its creation.
The Wall Street Journal reported builder Paul Varsames plans to turn the 50-slip marina Tide Mill Yacht Basin into a three-acre residential property with an 11,000-square-foot main house, a two-bedroom guesthouse and a pool. The marina”™s owner, Peter Donahue, has operated Tide Mill since 1972 and is planning to retire.
The listing is the most expensive residential property on the market in Rye, according to Joan O”™Meara of Houlihan Lawrence, is co-listing agent along with Sara Gore of Serhant. If a buyer agrees to an asking price, the transaction would break the record of Rye”™s most expensive property sale that was set in 2016 with a $21.15 million deal.
