Spain-based Cosentino Group is expanding its American footprint  with the opening this week of a 25,300-square-foot showroom, warehouse and distribution space in Mount Kisco for its stone products for home and architectural design
The Cosentino Center at 333 N. Bedford Road is the most recent addition to the company”™s North American expansion, which began in Anaheim, Calif., in 2010 and was followed by centers in Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, San Diego, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Minneapolis and Austin.
Cosentino’s  12 American stores employ 700 workers. The company employs 2,200 workers globally with operations in 60 countries.
“The Westchester center is a fantastic addition to our nationwide group of showrooms and distribution centers,” Lorenzo Marquez, Cosentino’s vice president for marketing, said in a press release. “We felt it was critical to have a foundation in the greater New York area, a leading hub for innovative architecture and design.”
More than a showroom, the company bills itself as an education center for architects and designers “by integrating distribution facilities with product display areas, meeting spaces for designers to bring clients, classrooms for continuing education, fully functioning kitchens and event space for demonstrations.” The end result is “an interactive environment for architects, designers, distributors and fabricators.”
Cosentino calls itself the global leader in natural stone, quartz and recycled surfaces.
