Huntington inaugurated as CNR president
The College of New Rochelle inaugurated Judith Huntington as its 13th president at an Oct. 13 ceremony drawing hundreds of faculty, alumni, students, and business and political leaders.
She succeeds outgoing president Stephen Sweeny, who was president since 1997.
The college”™s first lay woman president, Huntington came to CNR in 2001 as vice president of financial affairs. Prior to that she was an audit senior manager in the education, research and not-for-profit practice at the accounting firm KPMG L.L.P.
Huntington emphasized the importance of expanding college programs, strengthening financial stability and remaining technologically competitive.
“By doing so, the college will be better insulated from volatile market conditions. It will improve our competitive position, economies of scale and brand recognition, and broaden our geographic reach,” she said in her inaugural speech.
Huntington lives in Pelham and New Milford, Conn., with husband Brad Huntington, president of Tri-State Engineering.
Hudson Valley Cardiology joins NYU Langone
Hudson Valley Cardiology Group, with offices in Cortlandt Manor, Yorktown Heights, Putnam Valley, Cold Spring and Pawling, has joined NYU Langone Medical Center as a faculty group practice.
Practice physicians have been granted admitting privileges at the medical center as well as faculty appointments at the NYU School of Medicine.
Through this expansion, NYU Langone said it will build on the growth of its newly constructed ambulatory centers in Brooklyn, Long Island, Queens and other Manhattan districts.
