Ossining High School students who want to learn about the business world will soon get some words of wisdom from County Executive Robert P. Astorino.
Astorino will meet with students in the school’s  innovative business program Jan. 29. The county executive is among those who sing the praises of the award-winning program. “I heard about the creative approach that Ossining High School is taking to prepare its students to manage their personal finances and to open up their eyes to the various opportunities of a career in business, and I wanted to meet the kids,” said Astorino.
The business program was recently honored by the New York State Department of Education and Business Teachers Association as “an outstanding model for other school districts to follow.” In 2012, students in the program won first place at the African American Men of Westchester Business Skills Olympics.Â
This year, students will consult low-income individuals who need free tax advice under the Internal Revenue Service”™s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
