A new kind of movie experience comes to Yonkers this summer.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas will open a six-screen cinema at 2548 Central Ave. in July, replacing the shuttered United Artists Cinemas. Based in Austin, Texas, Alamo was named the “Best Theater Ever” by Time magazine and will feature a mix of new releases, independent films and programmed series.
Aside from a film, Alamo offers dinners and drinks from servers who attend to patrons during the movie. The company is taking applications for managers, kitchen staff, creative programmers, bartenders and waiters for the Yonkers theater.
