Wartburg, the senior care center in Mount Vernon, has honored 90 employees for their service.
Dorothea Bell, executive vice president of human resources, said that the employees have been there for a combined total of 900 years. One employee received recognition for being there 30 years, 12 received gifts for 20 years, 19 for 15 years and 19 caregivers for 10 years. Thirty-nine were recognized for five years of caring for seniors.
The Edgar J. Myers Leadership Award, named for the longtime president of the Wartburg Foundation, went to environmental service employee Grace Carino. Recipients of the Meyer award are chosen by Wartburg employees.
