ArtsWestchester marked its 20th year in its building at the corner of Martine and Mamaroneck avenues in downtown White Plains by unveiling new sign installations. The nonprofit acquired the former bank building in 1998.
What had been home to the Peoples National Bank & Trust Company has been transformed into a cultural hub featuring gallery and events space as well as studios and offices for artists and creative businesses. Additional façade improvements are planned for the nine-story building.
The signature sign was installed by Signarama Hartsdale.
“Since we acquired the building, we have worked on restoring and creatively adapting the use of the cultural treasure into an arts incubator and multi-use arts center, while preserving the landmark building,” said Janet Langsam, ArtsWestchester”™s CEO. “We have transformed one of the first ”˜skyscrapers”™ in White Plains into a cultural destination humming with creative energy, artists and arts programs for the greater Westchester market area.”
