An exhibition of Peter Paul Rubens”™ work, “Peter Paul Rubens and the Flemish 17th Century,” is being presented at Iona College”™s Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery in New Rochelle through Nov. 30.
The exhibition includes works by Rubens, his workshop and others. In all, 26 paintings and drawings from the collection of Seena and Arnold Davis are on display.
Rubens is considered the most influential artist of the Flemish Baroque tradition. His pieces reference aspects of classical and Christian history and include religious figures, mythological subjects and hunt scenes.
A gallery talk will be held on Nov. 9, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Gallery hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m.; and Sundays, 2 to 5 p.m. The gallery is closed on holidays.
