Greenwich United Way”™s Reading Champions program recently started its 10th year of service with a meeting of the program liaisons, people who work with schools and community organizations to help make the program work.
The Reading Champions program is conducted in association with the Greenwich Public Schools. It”™s a literacy program that pairs Greenwich youth with community volunteers who help build reading skills.
Program Coordinator, Marie Wardell and Volunteer Coordinator Betsy Coons, met with site liaisons to plan the launch of Reading Champions at all Greenwich elementary schools and four after-school programs. The program officially starts in late October.
