Manhattanville College will host a Fall Writers Weekend on Sept. 9, 10 and 11 to help creative writers develop their craft.
The workshop is presented by the college”™s Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing. Enrollment is open to both graduate students and the general public.
The program will begin with a two-hour orientation on Sept. 1. Attendees will develop one short story or essay from concept through revision over the course of the event. Attendance in the workshop is $450 for the entire three days.
“It”™s like taking a semester-long workshop and crunching it into three days,” said Manhattanville Master of Fine Arts program director Lori Soderlind. “It”™s a very exciting way to jump into a writing project, and the workshop facilitators are highly accomplished writers and teachers. It”™s a great experience.”
Novelist Janet Desaulniers and memoirist Amy Wilensky will be the instructors for the three-day intensive literary workshop. They will also be featured in readings and panel discussions that are open to the public free of charge.
