The Larchmont & Mamaroneck Lions plan to be back at the Larchmont Farmers Market on June 10 to continue their “previously read” book sale, this time benefitting Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
On May 20, the Lions conducted a book sale to raise funds to help the Girl Scouts make their local headquarters handicapped accessible. The sale itself raised $500, which was matched with an additional $500 by the Lions.
Carol Spawn Desmond, a director of the Larchmont Lions, suggested the book sale. Jag Rao, membership chairman of the Larchmont Lions and his wife Peggy, along with Melissa Keenan and Sheelah Mohan, staffed the book sale tent.
