Classroom furniture designer that made a domestic pivot
Guidecraft, a Tuxedo Park-based maker of toys and furniture for the educational market, knew it had to pivot when schools closed due to the pandemic.
The company teamed with Marquee Brands, which acquired the Martha Stewart brand in 2019, to create the new Martha Stewart Living and Learning Kids”™ Collection line of furniture.
The line is specifically designed to be flexible and enhance home-based learning environments for children, all while embracing togetherness and families, according to Guidecraft President Gary Bilezikian. While Guidecraft still creates furniture for classroom settings, the union with Martha Stewart opened up the company to a new, consumer-based environment.
