2015 Norwalk Seaport Association”™s Oyster Festival

STAMFORD, Conn., June 15, 2015 —First County Bank announces its sponsorship of the annual Norwalk Seaport Association”™s Oyster Festival being held Friday, Sept. 11th through Sunday, Sept. 13th, at Veteran”™s Park, adjacent to Norwalk Harbor on Seaview Avenue in Norwalk. The Bank has been an ongoing supporter of the festival since 2007, and is once again the event”™s presenting sponsor.
The Oyster Festival offers three days of continuous family-friendly activities and entertainment. The entertainment headliners include John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band on Friday, September 11, Dennis DeYoung: The Music of STYX on Saturday, September 12, and Smash Mouth on Sunday, September 13. All these acts will take place on the Main Stage. In addition, dozens of local and regional musicians as well as those competing in the Hour”™s “Breaking The Band,” will perform over the course of the weekend on The Hour/Heineken stage.
“We have another year of great national musical acts lined up,” says Oyster Festival Chairman Mike Reilly. “Dennis DeYoung who wrote seven of the eight Top Ten hits for STYX, Smash Mouth, plus John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, both of which wrote movie soundtrack hits for “Shrek” and “Eddie & The Cruisers” respectively.”
Returning after their popular debut last year will be the Nerveless Nocks Thrill Show,aerial stunt artists that perform motorcycle high wire acts and other daredevil stunts (www.nervelessnocks.com). This year they will be adding sway poles to their act, stunts on skyscrapingly high poles, free of wires or other safety means. Past attractions returning include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show (www.lumberjackent.com), a Craft Beer tent with more than 25 beers, an expanded food court, the largest everArts & Crafts Pavilion with more than 100 artisans and crafters, the oyster slurping contest, and much more.
