Most people may not think of Stamford and Bridgeport as vacation destinations, but the travel site RewardExpert cited the Fairfield County cities as being among the top 10 mid-sized Northeast cities to visit this year.
RewardExpert evaluated 13 key metrics divided into four categories ”“ affordability, safety, recreational activities and city profile ”“ in making its determination on the best places to visit. Stamford placed fifth and was praised for its “many well-known restaurants and educational institutions,” with the Stamford Museum and Nature Center and Cove Island Park singled out for commendation.
Bridgeport ranked 10th out of 21 Northeast cities evaluated by RewardExpert. And while it placed second in terms of affordability and third for recreational activities, it also placed second-to-last for safety and overall city profile.
Three other Connecticut cities also made the list: New Haven placed third, Hartford was 15th and Waterbury 20th. Yonkers was the sole Westchester city on the list, coming in 14th.
