Stamford-based WellAir has appointed Todd Pope as its new president and CEO.
Pope joins WellAir following the company”™s acquisition of his previous company, UV Innovations — a North Carolina-based developer of medical-grade disinfection technology — where he served as executive chairman.
His health care industry experience also includes senior positions at private equity firm Revival Healthcare Capital, surgical robotics company TransEnterix, Johnson & Johnson and Boston Scientific.
WellAir develops energy-efficient technologies that enable safe indoor spaces by mitigating microorganisms that can lead to infectious diseases, including viruses. WellAir and its brands, Novaerus and Plasma Air, are deployed in hospitals, workplaces, and other commercial locations in more than 60 countries around the world.
The company”™s flagship product, the Defend 1050, a portable air cleaning system which utilizes patented plasma-based technology, received U.S. FDA clearance last month.
