The Westchester County Cybersecurity Task Force is hosting three live in-person events next month designed to detail the essentials of online safety, from identifying phishing attempts to understanding social media pitfalls.
The events will take place on Sept. 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Grinton I. Will Library, 1500 Central Park Ave. in Yonkers; on Oct. 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the White Plains Library, 100 Martine Ave. in White Plains; and on Oct. 26 at 6:00 p.m. the New Rochelle Library, 1 Library Plaza in New Rochelle.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer created the CyberSecurity Task Force last year to review current policies and procedures of the county and to research the current state of threat mitigation. The major goal of the task force is to offer best tools and practices to the county, local municipalities, government entities, nonprofits, small businesses and individuals who are facing the possible theft or loss of cyber assets and data.
