The XFL has signed multiyear agreements with ABC, ESPN and FOX Sports to broadcast its games beginning with next year”™s inaugural season.
Beginning on Feb. 8, 2020, the XFL games will be presented weekly to broadcast television audiences via ABC and FOX and to cable television viewers by ESPN, ESPN2, FS1 and FS2. Programming will consist of back-to-back games on Saturday afternoons beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET, with two additional games slated for Sunday afternoons. The season will run through April 26, with a championship game to be broadcast on ESPN.
Vince McMahon, founder and chairman of the XFL and chairman of Stamford-based WWE, forecast a wider audience for the league’s current incarnation. In 2001, the XFL had a single-season run before closing due to poor television ratings.
“The XFL broadcast schedule provides us with incredible reach and makes it easy for fans to watch our games consistently every weekend,” he said.
