Wednesday’s 2015 Youth Workforce Summit will give youths from Westchester and Putnam counties an opportunity to learn about career development from a series of speakers.
The daylong event will be hosted at the Crowne Plaza hotel in White Plains, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Residents ages 16 to 24 were invited to the summit, which will teach personal branding, financial literacy and communication styles, among other topics.
Business Council of Westchester President and CEO Marsha Gordon and Westchester Putnam Workforce Investment Board Executive Director Donovan Beckford will give the opening remarks, followed by E.J. Carrion, a motivational speaker, author and entrepreneur.
Scarsdale brothers Michael and Marc Guberti, founders of the Teenager Entrepreneur Boot Camp, are also featured speakers. Michael, 18, is a motivational speaker, blogger and “intrapreneur.” Marc, 16, educates individuals and companies on how to increase their online presence.
“Undercover bosses” will observe the youths participating in the summit and make a job offer to at least one participant at the end of the program.
Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino will give closing remarks.
