The Trumbull Mall will begin a curfew policy that will prohibit anyone under the age of 17 from entering the premises on Saturday evenings unless they are accompanied by an adult.
The new policy goes into effect in August and follows several recent incidents involving violent fights involving minors ”“ including an incident in May when a gun went off and shot the ceiling during a fracas. A similar policy went into effect at the Connecticut Post Mall in neighboring Milford earlier in the year.
“This curfew policy has been established in response to feedback from community members and tenants and aims to promote a family-friendly atmosphere for all visitors,” said a representative of Mason Asset Management, which operates the mall. “Our goal with this new protocol is to maintain a consistent standard of safety and security throughout the mall at all hours.”
The mall is open on Saturdays through 9:00 p.m.
