The Container Store, a storage and organization product retailer, will open a location at Westchester’s Ridge Hill shopping center in Yonkers on Aug. 15.
According to the company, the Ridge Hill location will bring roughly 45 jobs to Yonkers. The company said in a news release that 10 percent of grand-opening weekend sales Aug. 15-16 will be donated to Gilda’s Club Westchester, a nonprofit that offers support groups and workshops for those with cancer.
The 25,000-square-foot Ridge Hill store will hold more than 10,000 products and will be open seven days a week. It will be on the south end of the shopping center, across from Whole Foods Market.
Based in Copell, Texas, The Container Store was founded in 1978 and is operated by The Container Store Group Inc.
The Ridge Hill store will be the company’s 73rd location in the U.S. and its sixth in the New York metro area. The Container Store also operates a store in White Plains.
