St. Louis-based Famous Footwear opened a downtown White Plains store this month as part of the company”™s expansion in metropolitan New York.
The shoe store will hold a grand opening Aug. 17 at its 4,500-square-foot space in The Galleria at 100 Main St. in White Plains. The store, the 57th Famous Footwear location in the New York market, opened July 14.
The footwear chain also will open a store this week in Selden on Long Island, followed by an Aug. 21 opening at Fordham Plaza in the Bronx.
“Our decision to open these three stores in New York was based on a recognized consumer need, and we look forward to delivering a great footwear shopping destination,” Rick Ausick, president of Famous Footwear, said in a press release.
Famous Footwear has more than 1,000 stores nationwide as well as an e-commerce site, Famous.com.
The retail chain is operated by Brown Shoe Co. in St. Louis, a $2.6 billion global company.
