The discount goods retailer Christmas Tree Shops is now conducting liquidation sales as the company prepares to go out of business.
In May, the financially ailing chain announced it was restructuring through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but the company has since defaulted on the loan that funded its bankruptcy and is now winding down its operations. The liquidation event is being managed by Hilco Merchant Resources, and new Merchandise will be arriving throughout the sale, with items marked up to 50% off.
The company has four Connecticut stores (Danbury, Manchester, Orange and Waterford) or four Westchester/Hudson Valley sites (Hartsdale, Middletown, Poughkeepsie and Spring Valley); the chain has 82 remaining stores across the country. Christmas Tree Shops did not announce when the stores will be permanently closing.
