Scarsdale was named the No. 1-earning town in the country by CNN Money Magazine in its annual “Best Places to Live” issue.
The 17,000-person village topped Money”™s “Top Earning Towns” list, with a median family income of $291,542 and media home price of $1.2 million. Scarsdale”™s quaint downtown and elite public high schools were noted by the publication.
“Impressive houses, exclusive boutiques and chic restaurants are icing on the suburban cake,” the article stated.
In all, four communities in Westchester and Fairfield counties cracked the top 10. Weston, Conn. was ranked No. 2, with a median family income of $275,154 and a median home price of $755,000.
New Canaan, ranked No. 4, had a median family income of $236,758. Rye City ranked 10th, with a median family income of $221,457.
