Luxury real estate powerhouse The Agency has opened its first Connecticut franchise at 2 South Ave. in New Canaan.
“The luxury market in Connecticut is thriving and we”™re thrilled to broaden our reach and referral network with our franchise in New Canaan,” said The Agency CEO and founder Mauricio Umansky, a familiar face to TV viewers of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Million Dollar Listing.”
The New Canaan office will be headed by partners Todd David Miller and Cliff Smith, both of whom had been brokers at the Higgins Group.
Miller, who before moving into real estate spent 15 years in the public relations industry, has sold more than $600 million in real estate. Smith had owned a sports agency where he represented professional basketball players in the NBA and WNBA, as well as in Europe and Asia.
“Our new franchise in Connecticut is a testament to the strength and excitement surrounding The Agency and its unparalleled offerings to agents,” Jim Ramsay, executive vice president of franchise sales at The Agency, said in a statement.
Umansky said that New Canaan, which is the Los Angeles firm”™s 17th franchise, will soon be joined by one in Huntington, Long Island.
Since its inception in 2011, The Agency has closed more than $9 billion worth of real estate transactions.
