AboveNet Communications Inc. will keep its headquarters in downtown White Plains after signing a 10-year lease renewal for 32,000 square feet of space at 360 Hamilton Ave. with the Reckson division of SL Green Realty Corp.
A publicly traded provider of high-bandwidth connectivity solutions for business and carriers, AboveNet operates in 15 major metropolitan markets in the U.S. and in London.
“We are pleased to continue our commitment to the White Plains community with this lease signing,” AboveNet President and CEO Bill LaPerch said when announcing the renewal. He said the company”™s White Plains headquarters “is strategically located to serve the needs of some of the world”™s most demanding customers” in the metropolitan New York market.
John Barnes, senior vice president and senior director for Reckson, said Reckson/SL Green has offered AboveNet a master agreement to be able to offer telecommunications services to the real estate company”™s tenants in the tristate region.
First listed on the New York Stock Exchange in May, AboveNet reported consolidated revenue of $85.4 million in the first quarter of 2009, a 20.5 percent increase over the first quarter of 2008. Its first-quarter earnings before interest, taxes depreciation and amortization nearly doubled, increasing 96 percent to $38.2 million from the first quarter of 2008. AboveNet management estimated total revenue for 2009 at $340 million to $350 million.
In a separate transaction, Research Perspectives International, a custom market research firm, signed a five-year lease for 8,000 square feet at 2 Gannett Drive in the Gannett Office Park in Harrison. The three-building, 340,000-square-foot office park is managed by Heritage Realty Services and owned by a Heritage affiliate, Dryland Gannett L.L.C.
