Hank Fries, principal of Henry W. Fries Real Estate in White Plains, has been elected president of New York State Board of Realtors. He will take office in January.
“It”™s a great honor,” Fries said. “It”™s a trade organization with 57,000 members and we try to make life better for everybody by helping our members and the public make informed decisions.”
Fries has been an active member of the New York State Association of Realtors for the past 30 years.
“We”™re very dedicated to the public as well as our members, and we interact with other members of the real estate community including lawyers and builders,” Fries said.
Fries said one of his immediate concerns is extending a tax credit for new home buyers.
“We are backing NAR (National Association of Realtors) to get an extension on an $8,000 tax credit for new home buyers that expires on Nov. 1,” he said. “We sold more houses this year than we anticipated, so we”™re trying to keep the tax credit going.”
