Scarsdale-based real estate agency Goldschmidt & Associates announced this week it was retained by Iona College to seek out retail tenants for the school’s mixed-use residence hall currently under construction.
In a press release, the agency said it is looking to fill the 7,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the first floor of the residence hall, which is at the corner of North and Summit avenues in New Rochelle. The building will house 310 students on its upper six floors.
Construction on the property, which began in May, is expected to be completed by fall 2016, when the dorm is scheduled to be unveiled and students can move in. There are currently 1,600 students who live on campus, and Iona’s total enrollment is more than 4,000.
The Mirage Diner, which the college bought in 2013, was demolished in February to make way for the residence hall.
Goldschmidt & Associates, which was founded in 1991, is licensed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
