The Westchester County Association”™s Young Professional Advisory Committee (YPAC) continued its “Home Buyers Series” Sept. 9 when a panel of leading Realtors and attorneys discussed the “ABC”™s of Real Estate Agencies.”
The panel discussion was followed by a networking cocktail reception at 1133 Westchester Ave.White Plains. Designed to provide information and insight about the role that real estate agencies play in helping young professionals find and purchase residential property, the program was moderated by William R. Attendees were provided with an overview of the challenges and opportunities of the current real estate market and learned how qualified Realtors can help first-time homebuyers analyze their wants and needs, find homes that meet their needs, coordinate with other professionals such as attorneys, title search companies and accountants and solve problems as they arise.
The Home Buyers Workshop Series builds on the first major event that YPAC held last fall on the lack of accessible housing that committee members had identified as a key issue impacting them. Last April, part one of the WCA”™s series addressed “Mortgages in a New Economic Climate: Can Young Professionals Afford to Live in Westchester?” Experts discussed options for first-time home buyers in a market of contradictions: It”™s a buyer”™s market but mortgage lending is very tight and banks have imposed new requirements.
