Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the allocation of up to $3 million in emergency assistance to eligible homeowners in eight counties who were impacted by flooding and property damage from recent storms.
The funds will provide emergency repair grants to the primary residences of homeowners in Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam and Rockland counties, as well as impacted households in the North Country”™s Clinton, Essex and Hamilton counties and Ontario in the Finger Lakes. Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded based on a scope of work approved by the local program administrators, and applicants must have incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.
The new funding follows a previously announced $3 million allocation. Eligible homeowners can apply for funding starting Aug. 11 on the state”™s website.
“This additional funding will help to provide relief to even more New Yorkers impacted by these devastating floods as they work to repair their homes and return to their normal lives,” Hochul said. “My administration remains committed to assisting New Yorkers in any way possible as part of the recovery effort following last month”™s historic storm.”
