Varta Microbattery Inc. has relocated its Westchester County office from White Plains to a 6,254-square-foot space at 555 Theodore Fremd Ave. in the International Corporate Center at Rye.
Based in Germany, Varta specializes in the research, development, production, sales, and marketing of  industrial and consumer battery systems. Its U.S. engineering, sales and customer service departments are in Rye. The company also maintains regional offices, a U.S. distribution network and warehouses on the east and west coasts.
The long-term lease was announced by Faros Properties L.L.C., the Manhattan-based landlord of the three-building, 170,000-square-foot International Corporate Center at Rye. Brokers Gregory Frisoli and Larry Ruggieri, managing directors of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, represented the landlord in the negotiations. The tenant was represented by Ian Ceppos and Al Guiterrez of CBRE Group Inc..
Working with the Faros Properties team allowed us to implement many creative design solutions to fit our vision of the space benefitting both VARTA and Faros,” William Flanagan, CEO and president of VARTA Microbattery, said in a press release. “Their close relationship with the city and local trades fast-tracked approvals on our very compressed schedule and they delivered on time.”
